Motion Tech 1 :: Project 1 – Images with Sound from Nathan Boyd on Vimeo.
Produced for my Motion Tech 1 Class, this first project was to explore the world of images & sound within After Effects. I chose the song “Propane Nightmares” by Pendulum. Using this single image of crumpled paper (free from BittBox.com) with some creative cropping & 3D layering in After Effects, I created these war machines and the world around them.
As my first foray into the 3D layer system of After Effects, I found this project to be pretty successful.

Here are some screenshots of my After Effects project. Creating these elements involved lots of pre-comps and collapsed transformations.
The planes and tanks were all drawn in pieces in Adobe Illustrator and then the texture was overlaid as the pieces were put together in 3D space in After Effects.
